One of the BFF’s suggested “Throwback Thursday” and that made me realize something…..
Fashion comes and goes and comes back again, doesn’t it? Or, maybe I should say TRENDS come and go and come back again. The truth is that STYLE never, ever goes because style is YOU. Style is how you carry yourself regardless of what the latest trends are.
When we think of our STYLE, we can all picture what kind of clothes and shoes make us look and feel our best. Trying to jump on the latest TREND often doesn’t work, because it doesn’t fit with our STYLE.
I’m all about jumping on a trend here and there – like a square toe vs a pointy toe…..you get what I mean. But, these are the items I tend not to INVEST in because they are a TREND that will come…..and then go.
When I think of “throwbacks”, I think of those things that I save not for NOSTALGIC reasons, but because they still fit my STYLE. I have one dress that I can think of off-hand that is SO me and I will NEVER get rid of it because it is CLASSIC but also because it is my STYLE….. and always will be.
Check out the CUTEST picture of my sister and her husband. (then boyfriend, I think). She STILL has (and wears!) this sweater because it is her STYLE. And, guess what? It’s a CLASSIC at the same time, which is why you are seeing versions of it in stores today!
Stick to your guns, peeps, stick to your guns.
