When Bing is bringing golf clubs on a trip, that means ONE thing to me – I get to bring a bigger bag!
Normally, we go carry-on, in fact we went THREE WEEKS in Europe with the kids and everyone went carry-on – hard to believe.
Anyhoo, the weather has been SO weird in Los Angeles which made me realize I needed more than a carry-on. I needed a blazer, a DOWN BLAZER (use code ANGELAHOWENSTEIN) a few pairs of shoes (open and closed toe), workout clothes and so much more. There were downright COLD days and a couple of warm days. Let’s just say I was prepared -ha!
As I’ve gotten “older”, I’ve realized that LA is so much more casual than it was when I was in my 30’s. Back then, I was ALWAYS dressed for a night out. This trip, I was mostly with my extended O’Donnell family and we are, by nature, casual – always.
So, I was glad to have a few pairs of jeans and t-shirts – that’s me!
Ok, listen up! I’ve talked about the RESSIE DENIM BLAZER before. It’s a dark, stretch denim that looks AWESOME with jeans (light or dark), white jeans, black pants. It’s the BEST travel jacket. I wore it with old Madewell jeans, but THESE are almost the exact same. I’m showing one of my FAVORITE TANKS and the other one is HERE. Traveled in my MOST COMFY SLING-BACKS that were perfect in the airport. I then wore them to a Mexican fiesta with my most FAV CARDIGAN, the same white tank, PERFECT LONG WHITE JEANS, the most VERSATILE SUMMER BELT, my best necklaces from Jane Win HERE and HERE. OH! And I always bring my BEST HAT by Janessa Leone.
Now, Friday at the US Open was a challenge when it came to picking out an outfit. I was going to wear this CUTE DRESS by Lilly Pulitzer (very golf-like) but it was TOO COLD! So, I ended up wearing my MOST FAVORITE JUMPSUIT. When I tell you it is SO flattering and SUPER stretchy comfy – I’m not kidding. It also comes in this DENIM COLOR, which I love too! I wore mine and it was perfect….until the sun came out. I was a little heated up by then – ha! I wore it (rolled up) with SNEAKERS, FAV HAT, EVERYDAY EARRINGS. Then, when we went directly to the Johnnie-O after-party, I just rolled it down and changed my SHOES! Perfection! Trust the Mother on this one.
Saturday was casual all the way around. I had on my FAV CROPPED JEANS, my LONG SLEEVE POLO ( I have orange, but love this blue too!), the EVERYDAY EARRINGS, CHLOE TOTE and my trusty DR. SCHOLL’S. That night, we did a BBQ and I just changed my JEANS, added this PLAID SANDAL, FAV BASEBALL T-SHIRT by Veronica Beard, FANCY EARRINGS ( I wear these in the daytime ALL the time!) and my little MINI BAG. It was perfect.
Here’s where things get a tiny bit funny. I had the ENTIRE HOUSE TO MYSELF on Sunday morning, so I found this random ZIP CAFTAN in the guest room closet. Come to find out, it is my sister-in-law’s mom’s – she wears it when she comes to town. I am OBSESSED. It was SO cozy and easy – ha! You must try this if you don’t have a Snuggie (!) of sorts. After some exercise, I put the FAV CROPPED JEANS back on with the SLING-BACKS, an amazing ULLA JOHNSON TOP and a super cute pair of earrings. The problem is that the color of my top is no longer available, nor are my earrings, so I’m showing the other color as well as my NEW FAVORITE EARRINGS by Jane Win. A MUST. BTW – My BEST HAIR CLIP is very similar to this one. I wear it alllll the time!
