See this cutie with me? That’s my SEESTER, Julie. On this day, we were attending the funeral of my BFFS’ mom. It was back at the church where we all grew up, and it was a BEAUTIFUL celebration of their mom, Mary. She was a one of a kind.
I found out the date of the funeral while sitting on a plane headed to SMU drop off with Billy – the first-born. I wasn’t at all prepared for the funeral to come so SOON after she died, but there I was, in Dallas without a THING to wear (always my excuse when shopping!). HA!
I headed to the Dallas Zara because I knew that there would be something there that I could wear. I certainly didn’t NEED another black dress, so the price had to be right. Of COURSE, I came upon this beauty and I was SOLD. It is the CUTEST dress with the big puff sleeve and belt. I’ve probably worn it five or six times (including last night at SMU Parent’s Weekend). Full disclosure, it is a TAD SHORT, but with flats or a low heel, it passes as appropriate for a 50 year old. In fact, it passes for even my 16 year old who said, “Mom, that’s actually a really cute dress.” – SCORE!!!! Find the dress HERE:
Then there was the SHOE PROBLEM. So, I put my trust in good ole ZARA and found these girls. Again, great staple that I have worn with this dress, jeans and black pants. SUPER comfortable. Limited sizes on line, but just try your local Zara – you’ll find them there. Check them out! MULES: ( I linked another mule below just in case…)
So, the moral of the story is…..ZARA always comes through. You can go in there and find ten things you ABSOLUTELY DO NOT NEED, but you can always go in a pinch and find something you NEED. Run, don’t walk….as always…..
Trust the Mother – you’ll be glad you did!
